Job Title: Director of Sales Operations

Department: Sales

Reports to: EVP Sales           

Direct reports: 4                       Indirect reports: 1+

FLSA Status: Exempt               

 

Overview:

The Director, Sales Operations (DSO) position plays a key role in the strategy, development and management of the Sales Operations function. They are responsible for the development and implementation of tools and processes to drive increasing sales, through productivity improvement. They are also responsible for the direction and development of the Inside Sales and Customer Service functions.  The DSO Coordinates with Wencor Group sales leadership in conjunction with the Sales Management team to ensure the company's strategic and commercial goals are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The DSO is responsible for the overall operations, productivity and effectiveness of the global sales organization. 
  • Leads the inside sales and customer service functions.
  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Create and recommends revisions to existing reports, dashboards, key business metrics, balanced scorecards or in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of data quality, integrity, accuracy, and process consistency within the sales and marketing databases.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement including bottlenecks and inconsistencies.
  • Coordinated the requirements for ad-hoc reporting, dash-boarding and analysis requests related to Sales and Business Development forecasting. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable effective and saleable processes and systems implementations.
  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization are supported.
  • Implements enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organization's compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. Works closely with sales management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm's technology investments.
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives, policy and procedures and coordinates the training to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel.
  • Work closely with VP's as well as peers and company management to drive strategy and company initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities and weaknesses within territories, make recommendations and drive solutions to create value and increase operational efficiency.
  • Interface with Marketing to ensure operational alignment between marketing programs and the sales organization.
  • Sales liaison with Product Management, Purchasing, Operations, IT, Accounting, Quality and Export teams.
  • Various adhoc programs or projects as determined by management

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be fluent with MS Office software and other computer applications generally.
  • Previous best in class sales operations experience developing and managing
  • Has solid understanding of the aviation industry.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Able to make presentations to large groups at the highest organizational level

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering with five years aerospace industry experience and/or training required; MBA degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education
