Job Title: Strategic Account Director

Department: Sales

Reports to: Vice President of Strategic Development 

FLSA Status: Exempt             


Job Summary:

Strategic Account Director's purpose is to drive profitable growth at the assigned account(s) through establishing, leading and evolving an impactful business plan.  Success is defined through the achievement of stated goals in the business plan insuring that we drive customer satisfaction, delivered stated outcomes and establish a differentiated position at the account.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The mission will be to significantly grow the Wencor business at assigned account(s) by developing and executing a business plan.
  • Establish monthly/quarterly milestones with the appropriate business reviews, monitoring and corrective action with both Wencor and assigned airlines.
  • Understands customer needs and opportunities while also being knowledgeable of current and future Wencor product and service offerings that we have or need to develop.
  • Insures significant opportunities are defined, developed and a business case is completed that specifies cost, margin and sales volume along with the anticipated customer benefits.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of assigned airlines operations, fleet schedules, maintenance programs, in house capabilities and major outsourcing efforts and contracts.
  • Maintains current customer organization structure with complete contact information at all levels of their organization. Account plan includes how Wencor maintains/advances the customer relationships.
  • Will manage the on-site Wencor team (if applicable) and coordinate required Wencor sales / technical visits to assigned account(s).
  • Ensures account receives prompt, world-class service, and that Wencor is meeting and exceeding its commitments through constant dialogue and communication with all the appropriate Wencor team members and assigned airlines.
  • Coordinates customer's satisfaction score card reporting with Wencor businesses and monitors our performance.
  • Review and understand thoroughly Wencor / assigned airlines current and future contracts to ensure the appropriate execution, performance to expectation and relevant renewal.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be fluent with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  Familiar with reports and ability to manipulate data sets using Filters, Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and other Excel functions.  Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work in a team environment.  Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure are critical skills. Previous sales and customer service experience required.

Education Requirements:  Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, or related degree and 10 years related in the commercial airline industry. Airline experience also preferred.
