Job Title: On-Site Airline Sales Representative 

Department: Sales

Reports to: VP of Strategic Accounts          

Direct reports: 0          Indirect reports:          0

FLSA Status:     Exempt              

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represents the Wencor Group at the respective airline. (May be on site full time) in a positive, professional, and thorough manner.
  • Establishes and maintains good customer relations and coordinates the highest level of customer satisfaction with Wencor internal disciplines.
  • Obtains competitive information and Intelligence at responsible accounts and maintains a customer competition file on RFP wins and losses.
  • Multitasks and is current with phone calls, emails, faxes, and data entry into Salesforce and other commitments as required.
  • Understands thoroughly Wencor products / services as required and has fundamental understanding of their technical use in presenting to the customer.
  • Answers customers' questions about products and services and emphasizes product features based on analysis of customer's needs.
  • Submits and coordinates PMA and Distribution contract proposals and pursues both long-term agreements and services development contracts with the customer.
  • Knowledgeable and supports complex service offerings (i.e. Wenstock, ISA, Kitting)
  • Gathers PMA airline data, works with airline and Wencor engineering to find PMA opportunities, and follows up with Wencor engineering about PMA developments.
  • Borrows sample and scrap parts, submits PMA packages and helps facilitate them through the PMA approval process, and sets up on-site testing.
  • Coordinates proposals and bids in Salesforce with Contracts and Pricing / Product Line leaders as required.
  • Maintains Opportunities in Salesforce and customer account profiles.
  • Understands contracts and works with internal disciplines in adherence to our agreements and with In-side sales on parts order performance and retention of business.
  • Works as a team with Inside sales reps also in support of existing non-contract business and developing new business leads.
  • Possesses "Pre-Management" skill sets (i.e. organizes, strategize, and assists in working with other regions in joint efforts and projects).
  • Clears up receiving and quality issues and helps with collections as needed.
  • If not on site, travels to customers 50% of time per established visitation schedule.
  • Is proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical manuals and procedures, and government regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to make effective presentations to individuals and groups.  Multilingual capabilities are important for some customer groups.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in many situations.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be fluent with MS Office software and other computer applications generally.
  • Has solid technical and sales experience.
  • Has solid understanding of the aviation industry.
  • Has a minimum of five years of industry sales experience, and two years outside sales experience with the company.

  • Has clear vision at 20 inches or less. Has the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. 

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
