Job Title: Supply Chain Intern

Department: Purchasing

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

Job Summary: 

Resolve any quality issues related to distribution parts and/or documentation.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review part certification packages to discover and resolve any non-conformance issues related to documentation and paperwork.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on the disposition of parts and/or paperwork found to be non-conforming.
  • Report Daily and Monthly on progress made to reduce both Quantity and Aging of open Quality actions.
  • Track non-conformance rates by supplier and type to identify target areas for improvement.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis to determine appropriate actions to prevent non-conformance issues from recurring.
  • Develop and implement effective communication processes with Wencor suppliers, internal departments, and Wencor customers.
  • Seek personal/professional growth by working closely with Buyer II's and Quality Assurance Team.
  • Other duties assigned by manager.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, business periodicals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers and the general public. Must be able to effectively communicate any problems they encounter with upper management, suppliers, and customers.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent inter-personal skills, a high degree of organizational and problem solving skills, ability to think and work independently, a basic understanding of lean and Six Sigma performance measurements and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Ability to process map, create and modify procedures, instructions and training documents. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access.

Physical Demands: Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, lift up to 25 lbs., work near moving mechanical parts in an environment with moderate noise levels.


Education Requirements: Currently pursuing a Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Management, or Engineering.
