Job Title: Continuous Improvement Lean Expert           

Department: Continuous Improvement 

Reports to: Director of Continuous Improvement

FLSA Status: Exempt                             

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma/Lean Process on Strategic Projects.
  • Manage and Drive Physical & Cultural Change in the organization.
  • Effectively communicate to leadership, team members, and employees affected by the projects/change.
  • Balance Process Orientation and Change Management to ensure smooth implementation of projects.
  • Observe value stream waste, coach and drive Lean principle and methodologies for waste removal.
  • Coach and deploy and Lean principles in the manufacturing environment to operators and leadership.
  • Develop standard work to document common lean activities like 5S, Kanban and flow cell construction.
  • Ensure our Company Values of Safety, Exceptional Service, Continuous Improvement, and Respect are reflected in our Strategic Projects
  • Consult on best practices around the Toyota Production System methodology.
  • Implements Lean practices at multiple Wencor facilities, in various manufacturing and office environments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize in a highly fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated project management, facilitation, and influencing skills
  • Highly effective verbal, written, presentation  and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, communications and problem solving skills
  • Solid Understanding of Lean practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Warehouse experience a plus

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Works in moderate noise levels.
  • Is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
  • Has clear vision at 20 inches or less. Has the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Education and Work Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Related Field
  • Lean Expert or Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • 2+ Years of Experience Working as a Lean Practitioner
