Job Title: Senior Manager Strategic Supply Chain                   

Reports to: VP Supply Chain           

Direct reports: Strategic Sourcing Buyer(s) & Logistics Analyst  



Job Description: Manage efficient and effective development, design, operation, and improvement of the company's strategic procurement and global provisioning processes, with specific oversight of Wencor's investment strategy for new and emerging products and global stocking strategy for support of regional customer support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize customer inquiry data to determine products and product lines in which to invest
  • Develop and utilize market research tools to determine Wencor's competitive capabilities
  • Vet new supplier capabilities and qualifications
  • Develop tools and metrics to analyze effectiveness of the strategic investment process. Metrics to include:
    • Capture Rates
    • Conversion of product to forecasted stocking codes within established time frames
    • GMROI
    • Inventory Turns
    • Commodity or Part Series Coverage
  • Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers and identify opportunities for joint marketing
  • Enhance analytical tools to determine optimum stocking levels for all global locations
  • Ensure that established stocking levels for global facilities are adequately maintained
  • Determine optimum frequency of transfers to align with capacity constraints for all operational facilities
  • Ensure that transfer activity is performed at optimum cost, utilizing freight saving and resource saving methodologies
  • Ensure Inventory levels meet company's goals
  • Develop continuous improvement programs to increase efficiencies and quality and reduce costs.
  • Work in collaboration with Distribution Procurement Manager to ensure efficient transition of procurement activities
  • Oversee the administration of provisioning levels for new items and participate in all SIOP activity

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years procurement experience
  • Project Management or Program Management experience
  • Experience in supplier-facing roles
  • Commodity Product Application Knowledge
  • Functional excellence in MS Excel, Access, ERP
