The Senior Sales Director will work with the Regional VP of Sales to ensure Sales Strategy for the region is created, aligned, and implemented.  This position will work directly with key customers to solve their problems and grow Wencor's business.  He/she will coach and mentor sales employees on relationship and solution selling. 

 Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides leadership, mentors, and coaches sales personnel on Relationship/Solutions Selling
  • Manages sales personnel and accounts
  • Assists VP of Sales in representing the region in management meetings, sign off meetings (PMA), and regular reviews
  • Helps set goals in sales, gross profit, sales expenses, and net profits for the region
  • Is accountable for reaching sales goals and margin targets
  • Negotiates and executes contracts and proactive sales efforts within the region
  • Communicates regional activities to management and partner companies
  • Establishes training programs for sales representatives
  • Reads, interprets, analyzes, creates, and forecasts profit and loss data
  • Analyzes sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements.
  • Monitors and analyzes the preferences of customers to develop customer strategies and account plans
  • Performance manages and develops subordinate employees
  • Works cross-functionally to ensure value propositions are updated/utilized and customer needs are met
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical manuals and procedures, and government regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manual 
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and boards of directors.  Multilingual capabilities are important for some regions
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as probability and statistical inference 
  • Must be fluent with MS Office software and other computer applications generally
  • Has solid understanding of the aviation industry
  • High level of Communication, Collaboration, and Negotiation skills
  • Able to make presentations to large groups at the highest organizational level


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Ten years aerospace industry experience in a solution/services sales role, with 5 years in a leadership role

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
