Job Title: Sales Support Specialist [W]

 Department: Sales

 Reports to: Inside Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt        EEO: Sales Workers

 

Job Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist will work to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for growth with new or existing product lines and services. They will assist sales in meeting customer expectations as well as solving problems or issues.  This role will also ensure that aspects of the customer relationship are tracked correctly in our system and that processes are followed.

 

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing account base
  • Contact customers to follow up, promote products and review missed sales opportunities
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, world-class, service
  • Provide quote responses, enter, and update customer orders
  • Provide technical information to customers
  • Maintain specific customer database information
  • Resolve customer concerns or problems
  • Utilizes all applicable sales tools and reports
  • Review and maintain long term contract agreements
  • Maintain regular contact with outside sales team
  • Coordinate with other departments within the organization to achieve sales targets
  • Participate in training, including new hire training
  • Performs Order data entry duties for the Account Mangers and insures contract review is completed.
  • Participate in coverage for team members who are out of the office
  • Assist team with special projects
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Multilingual capabilities are important for some customer groups.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be fluent with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  Familiar with reports and ability to manipulate data sets using Filters, Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and other Excel functions.  Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work in a team environment.  Attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure are critical skills. Previous sales and customer service experience required.

Education Requirements:  Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, or related degree and two years related experience and/or training; minimum three years acceptable performance as Inside Sales Representative I; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
