Job Title: Engineering Intern [W]

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Engineering or Metrology Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Support reverse engineering of commercial aircraft parts.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use measurement tools to support reverse engineering of commercial aircraft parts.
  • Create dimensional data reports to return measurement data to Engineering.
  • Uses CAD tools as necessary to support dimensional data table development.
  • Assists in writing engineering reports as required.
  • Assists in drawing revision support as required.

  • Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capacity to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Is frequently required to use hands and fingers to hold parts, measure and inspect.
  • Is frequently required to reach for tools, parts, etc.
  • Is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Has clear vision at 20 inches or less.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Concurrent enrollment in university courses in Engineering discipline preferred
